Okay, before you say anything, this is NOT a rant. I'm just stating my opinion about this event that happened a few days ago.

Now, to be honest, I had no clue the system of dA had changed until I saw a bunch of journal entries in my inbox about it yesterday. Doing some observations with the events, I agree with most points, but not all of them.

Now, what bothered me alot is when a few dA artists had a rant about how photography and literature is on the page and digital/mixed media/traditional art isn't. I'm sorry to say this, but all of these writers and photographers DESERVE(and blatantly too) the spotlight for once. I mean, photography was/is apart of dA since it was created, but literature never got even the littlest taste of popularity. So please, avoid this subject, focus on the main thing. Writing and photography is apart of art, whether you like it or not.

The desktop screenshot, which most of the people mentioned, is agreeable. Plus, I'm glad the artist didn't get full of him/herself about it. Like I said on *ramy's journal, the old system has to come back, but with some fixes. Such as making a section of a site for new artists, were they can show off their artwork however they please. So on, so forth--I know more dA artists have better ideas than I do.

The new system does have some good points. Such as some unknown artists came to the spotlight, more competition(just like how the REAL art industry is), and so on. Well, these are my two cents. You guys can go on and troll, agree, disagree, state your own two cents. :3 I'm pretty much interested in anyone's statement at the moment.

p.s. dA, please remove these fatassed ads on the galleries. It's really rude, and very "in-your-face" much.
